X-Men vs. Apocalypse, ¿How Can This Go Wrong?

Post Secret Wars X-Men issue Sumarries: Extraordinary X-Men

 Death of  X
The Inhuman Terrigen Mist cloud that has been floating around in the Earth's atmosphere since the Infinity crossover has started to make mutants sick and some have started to die, Cyclops and his X-men have set out to destroy the mist, pitting the X-Men against the Inhumans.  Its the first part of the what will become a full-blown war between Marvel's merry mutants and the Inhumans.

Sporting Cast: Alchemy 
•    1: X-Men discover on Muir Island the Terrigen mist is responsible for Multiple Man's death, while the Inhumans defend the birth of new members of their race from an attack of Hydra.
•    2: Cyclops informs the world that the Mist is killing off the mutants sparking a world panic, while Storm's X-men team up with the Inhumans trying to stop the mist from going over Madrid Spain.
•    3: Magneto attacks the Inhumans and the X-Men working together in Spain as a distraction, while Cyclops and his team tries to destroy one of the clouds of mist using the Mutant Alchemy powers.
•    4: Medusa and Blackbolt confront Cyclops over the destruction of one of the Clouds of mist, which ends in the death of the mutant.

Issue Summary:
Repercussions and Lasting effects:
•    Death of Cyclops
•    Death of Multiple Man
•    Death Alchemy
•    One Terrigen mist cloud left.
•    White Queen is back to being a villain.

The Bad:
•    Why kill Multiple Man, kill off Glob or Rockslide
The Good:
•    Cool that someone remembered Alchemy from the pages of the old school X-Factor.
•    Great how the story actually shows how both sides are affected by this event that is Blackbolt's fault.   With the Inhumans rejoicing that birth of new members of their race while the X-men discover that many of the of their loved ones are in danger of dying.
•    The final plot twist is really good.

Extraordinary X-Men 1-5

Cyclops has died, mutants are being affected with the terrigen mist making mutants sick with the M-pox, so the X-Men take refuge in limbo teleporting all the mutants they can find, and adding to this situation Nightcrawler has gone missing  so his team mates set out to find him.

Characters:

Team Rundown:

Storm: Personally I think she's the best X-Men team leader of all time.

Magik: Taking the X-Men to limbo opens the door for new adventures and new directions  for the team.

Colossus: Basically Magik's bodyguard.

Nightcrawler: He's just bamfing here and there, seems to be suffering PTSD.

Iceman: Exploring his powers and coming out of the closet, this adds to the stories.

Jean Grey: Why young Jean looks like Alpha Flight's Diamond Lil.

Old Man Logan: This incarnation of Logan is interesting he's like a broken bad ass, he was the best at what he did but now he's afraid of what he can do, ¿or is he?

Forge: He's the teams brain and tech dude, ¿but in Limbo will he'll dabble with magic?

Cerebra: A friendly sentinel that wants to help find mutants, they could have given her another body.

  

Villains: Mr. Sinister  

Issue Summary:

Extraordinary X-Men 1: What is left of the X-Men with Storm as their leader set out to rescue as many mutants as possible sending them  to their refuge in limbo, also Storm is trying to rebuild the team searching for lost team mates and to her surprise with help of Cerebra she finds Wolverine alive but not the one she knows but the other dimension Old Man Logan.

Extraordinary X-Men 2: Magik and Colossus are trying to find Nightcrawler that has gone MIA, but they discover that he's been captured by Mr. Sinister, and he captures the other them too.

Extraordinary X-Men 3: Young Jean convinces Logan to join the X-Men, while demons attack X-men's limbo refuge.

Extraordinary X-Men 4:  X-men stop the demon horde and start the search for their lost team mates finding them in Sinister clutches.

Extraordinary X-Men 5: Sinister has cloned Cyclops  with Inhuman DNA to see if this is the next step in human evolution, but things go wrong and the X-men have to stop it.

Repercussions and Lasting effects:

·         X-Men have established themselves in Limbo.

·         Boiling conflict between Mutants and Inhumans.

·         Limbo seems to be more complicated.

·         M-Pox seem to be causing havoc for mutants.

·         Logan is back and he's old.

·         It seems Cyclops is dead.

The Bad:

·         Sinister is popping up to much, I love this villain but marvel should create a new X villains and keep Sinister in the shadows pulling the strings like he used to.

The Good:

·         Being in Limbo does open doors for the X-men and new story.

Extraordinary X-men 6-7: X-men Explore new parts of limbo.

Lasting Effects: Sunfire is back and it seems that he did something bad

X-Men Civil War 1-4: Magneto discovers the existence of Ulysses, and threatens to start a war with the Inhumans, but when he meets the inhuman he just leaves with the info that he discovered from him.

The Bad:

This story is a freaking cash grab.

 

Extraordinary X-Men 8: X-Men battle the Sugar Man, trying to obtain mutant embryos in an arc he had created they fear he'll use these mutants for some evil plan, but the villain ports the arc into the future to hide it but accidentally send some X-Men too.

Extraordinary X-Men 9: X-Men in the future battle Apocalypses four horsemen and capture Colossus who is transformed into horsemen, the mutants that escape discover that Apocalypse had conquered Earth creating something like Doom's Battle World.
•    Another battle world that seems lazy.

Extraordinary X-Men 10-12: More X-Men arrive from the past searching for their teammates, meeting Apoc's horsemen who don't stop attacking them every step of the way. While Nightcrawler and Storm take down Apocalypse.

Extraordinary X-Men 13: The X-Men return to the past but Colossus remains under Apoc's control.

Extraordinary X-Men 14-16: Sapna has become possessed by a demon parasite, leading to Majik trapping her in her Soul Sword. 

Extraordinary X-Men Annual 1: The X-Men rescue Ramrod and Ruckus to old Nasty Boys from prison that is going to be hit by the Inhuman Terrigen Mist. 
 

Uncanny X-Men Issue Sumarries from the late 70's to mid 80's X-Men: From Gaint Sized X-Men up to Mutant Massacre

Uncanny X-Men 100: The New X-Men battle old school X-Men who turn out in being robots under the control of Lang.

The Good:

·         Lang seems to have ties with Larry Trask and the Secret Empire.

Lasting Repercussions:

·         In the escape from Lang's space base the Phoenix Force saves Jean.

Uncanny X-Men 101: Birth of Phoenix, X-Men go on vacation to Banshee Castel in Ireland, to discover that it has been taken over by his evil cousin and new friend, Black Tom and Juggernaut.

Lasting Repercussions:

·         Introduction of Black Tom.

Uncanny X-men 102-103:X-Men battle and eventually defeat Black Tom and Jugy.

The Good:

·         We learn about the origins of Storm and why she is claustrophobic.

·         Jugy vs. Colossus

Lasting Repercussions:

·         We learn that Nightcrawler can become invisible in the shadows.

·         Xavier has his first vision of Lilandra of the Shi'ar calling out to him for help.

·         Introduction of D'Ken and Eric the Red

Uncanny X-Men 104: X-Men head to Muir Island to find that Magneto is back, thanks to Eric the Red and he kicks their butt.

Lasting Repercussions:

·         In the battle with Mags Mutant X/Proteus is accidentaly set free.

·         Introduction of the Star Jammers

Uncanny X-Men 105: X-Men battle Eric the Red, when Firelord jumps in the battle on red's side and after defeating the X-Men Firelord battles Phoenix.

Lasting Repercussions:

·         Introduction of some of the members of the Imperial Guard.

·         Jean Grey and Misty Knight are roommates.

·         Lilandra arrive on Earth but is kidnapped by Eric the Red

Uncanny X-Men 106: A weird fill in issue which tell a story when Xavier flips out and becomes evil for a Issue.

Uncanny X-Men 107-108: The X-Men follow Eric through a portal and find that he has some backup the Imperial Guard, the Mutants end up in a battle to save Lilandra and stop D'Ken from taking over the universe, good thing the Star Jammer jump in to give a hand.

The Good:

·         Wovly after defeating Fang he uses his suit

Iron Fist 15: Iron Fist goes his friend Misty Knight that shares a apartment with Jean Grey and crosses paths with Wolverine (in the Fang Costume), and it does take long for the rest of the X-Men to join in being stop by Jean Grey before they destroy her pad.

The X-men109: X-Men back from space, but Wolvy is confronted by Guardian because he has abandoned Department H.

The X-Men 110: X-Men are attacked by War Hawk. Super fill in.

The X-Men 111: The Beast is back and he's trying to libertate the X-Men from Mesmero's control, but Magneto drops in on the fun

The X-Men 112: Magneto takes the X-Men to Antarctica, and they battle, he easaly defeats the X-Men.

The X-Men 113: Mags starts his attack on humanity while the X-Men escape and battle Magneto again destroying his base, leading Beast and Jean grey to think that their teammates died in the final explosion.

Lasting Repercussions: We learn that Storm as a child was a master thief.

The X-Men114: The X-men didn't die they ended up in Savage Land.

The X-Men 115: X-Men battle Sauron and team up with Kazar, Team discover that the evil Garrok has taken over Savage Land and they will help Kazar liberate  it .

Uncanny X-Men 116: X-Men battle and defeat Garrok, with help from Kazar.

The Good:

·         First refrence to Wolvy's healing factor

 

Uncanny X-Men 117:  Xavier remembers his first encounter with a evil Mutant the Shadow King.

Uncanny X-Men 118-119: X-Men battle Mosses Magnum to save Japan

The Good:

·         We learn that Wolvy has been in Japan before and he know Japanese.

·         Sunfire, Misty Knight and Coleen Wing appear in this issue.

Lasting Repercussions:

·         Banshee has lost his powers.

Last Repercussion:

·         Wolvy meets one of his future love Mariko.

Bizarre Adventures 27: Phoenix battles Attuma.


Uncanny X-Men 120-121: X-Men battle Alpha Flight, they want Logan back he's a valuable asset to the Canadian Government and they are going to take him back like it or not, Wolvy ends up giving himself in to only escape.
The Good:

·         The introduction of Alpha Flight that gave the X-men a run for their money.

Power Man & Iron Fist 57-58:  Cage, Fist and the X-Men join forces to battle the living monolith.

Uncanny X-Men 122: Fill in issues
 

Uncanny X-Men 123-124: The X-Men battle for the first time Arcade and barely get out alive.

The Good:

·         A brief Cameo of Spider-man

X-men Annual 3: X-men teamup with Arkon.

Note:

·         I hate Arkon

Bizarre Adventures 27: Nightcrawler has a adventure with the old X Villain the Vanisher after saving his life.

Uncanny X-Men 125: Master Mind start manipulating Phoenix to make her join the Hellfire club.

Lasting Repercussion:

·         Proteus makes his move and attacks

The Good:

·         Multiple man  is in this issue.

·         Master Mind sort of reinvents himself.

Uncanny X-Men 126-127: X-Men battle Proteus and he just wipes the floor with them.

The Good:

·         It's cool to see Wolvy actually shaken after being defeated by Proteus.

Note:

·         First Multiple man clone death thanks to Proteus.

Uncanny X-Men 136: X-Men battle the Dark Phoenix.

The Good:

·         Impressive showdown between Xavier and the Dark Phoenix.

Uncanny X-men 137: X-men battle the Imperial Guard to save the life of Jean Grey from Shi'ar justice.

Uncanny X-Men, Day of the Future Past 141-142 : What left of the X-Men that live in a distopic future taken over by sentinels send Kitty Pryde's mind back to her younger self to stop with the help of the X-men stop assassination of Robert Kelly by Mystics Brotherhood of Evil Mutants

The Good:

·         We actually get to see for the first time a future time line that well prissiest in the X-Men mythos.

Uncanny X-Men 143: Kitty battles by herself a N'garai a evil demon from limbo.

Uncanny X-men 144: Fill issue with Cyclops battling Dyspair.

Spider Woman 37: Jessica goes up against Juggernaut, Black Tom and Syrin, and she finds out she bite off more than she can chew.

Annual 4: X-men team up Doctor Strange to head deep into limbo and meet Nightcrawler's adoptive mother Margali Szardos.

Marvel team up 100: We learn that Storm and Black Panther knew each other from when they where young

Magik 1-4: Here we get the story of what happened to Magik during her time in Limbo with Belasco.

Uncanny X-Men 161: Flash back issue to when Xavier met Magneto and battle Hydra and Baron Strucker.

Lasting Effects:

·         We discover that Magneto had been in a Jewish concentration camp during the Second World War.

·         Xavier meet the woman that would become the mother of his child Legion.

Uncanny X-Men 162: The X-Men get captured and ported to the Brood world, Wolverine just claws his way through hordes of Brood.

The Good:

·         We discover that the Brood take host bodies and Wolvy's body was able to stop his transformation.

The Uncanny X-Men 186: Storm decides to end her relationship with Forge, while the Dire Wraiths are preparing to attack Forge.

The Uncanny X-Men 187: The Wraiths attack, Storm end Forge try to fend them off the demons, when the X-Men jump in to save the day.

The Uncanny X-Men 188: The Wraiths try to conjure a super spell to unleash yo chaos but accidently liberate the Adversary. while Mags was found lost at sea.

Lasting Effects: It is revealed that Rachel is Jean and Cyclops daughter from the future.

The Uncanny X-Men 189: Rachel and Magma try to infiltrate the Hellfire Club to take down the Black Queen everything goes wrong X-Men save Rachel.

The X-Men X-Men 190: X-men, Avenger and Spidy battle Kulan Gath to save NY.

The Uncanny X-Men 193: Warpath has set out to avenge his brother Thunder Bird by kidnapping Banshee and hiding him in a US military base to draw the X-men out and cause a terrible mess, he wants the X-Men to pay blaming them for the death of his older brother.  Warpath and the Hellions take on the X-Men, but after confronting Xavier he realizes that he was making a mistake and decides not to kill Charles.

The Good:

·         Warpath actually defeats Wolvy in fight.

The Uncanny X-Men 194: Jugernaut has a run in with Nimrod, and to the surprise of Cain, Nimrod is kicking his butt, the X-Men have to jump in to save their enemies life, Rogue use her powers to the max narrowly defeat Nimrod.

The Good:

·         Nimrod fight crime and sees itself as a hero.

Uncanny X-Men 195: The Power Pack venture in the sewers and are captured by the Morlocks and the X-Men have to save the young heroes.

The Uncanny X-Men 196: Rachel shows off her powers. 

The Good:

·         Holy crap Wolvy lets a minor Kitty Pryde smoke a cigar only in the 80's.

The Uncanny X-Men 197: Arcade set up a new game getting Colossus and Kitty involved in his sick game.

Uncanny X-Men 206: Classic battle between the X-Men and Freedom Force, surprisingly no one wins.

The Good:

·         Strom has a kick ass  Mohawk.

Uncanny X-Men 207: Wolvy stops Phoenix from killing Selene.

The Good:

·         Holy crap Wolvy stabs Phoenix II to stop her from killing Black Queen

Uncanny X-Men 208: Selene wants pay back against the X-Men and joins the forces of the Hellfire Inner Circle, but the battle draws the attention of Nimrod.

Uncanny X-Men 209: Both team join forces to battle Nimrod, and they almost didn't make it out alive.

Lasting Repercussions:

·         Nimrod kills Von Roehm and Henry Leland

·         Rachel/Phoenix II ends up in Spiral's body shop who saves her life.

Mutant Massacre

A mysterious new group of evil mutants pops out of nowhere and start to Massacre the Morlocks sending shockwave through the mutant-verse for many year to come.

Antagonist: Apocalypse, Freedom Force, Magus

Villains: Marauders, Mr. Sinister (note he's not in the crossover but he's the villain that sends the Marauders on their slaughter fest)

Issue Summary:

·         Uncanny X-Men 210: The Marauders start their the Massacre of the Morlocks.

·         Factor 9:  X-Factor confront Freedom Force over their capture of Rusty and Skids, battling them in the sewers.

·         Uncanny X-Men 211: Marauders are killing Morlock left and right, X-Men jump in, Nightcrawler is taken down, and Shadow Cat also hurt.

·         The New Mutants: New Mutants help with the Morlocks refugees.

·         X-Factor 10: X-Factor join in the battle but Angel gets clobbered by the Marauders and his wings are injured beyond repair. 

Thor 373-374:  Thor joins in to stop the carnage and saves Angel from being killed.

Power Pack 27: The Power Pack  head into the sewers to save leach and battle Sabertooth

Uncanny X-Men 212: Round 1, Wolverine vs Sabertooth while Storm battles Callisto, Callisto is pist the Storm didn't protect her people.

X-Factor 11: X-Factor dealing with the fallout from the Massacre

Uncanny X-Men 213: Round two Wolvy vs Sabertooth and tooth almost kills Pyslocke and Rogue.

Repercussions and Lasting effects:

·         Death of most of the Morlocks

·         Angel loses his wings, setting him on the path in becoming Death.

·         Apocalypse recruits Plague during the Massacre.

·         We discover much latter Mr. Sinister was the one to order the Massacre and that the Morlocks are a failed experiment of the Dark Beast.

·         Magneto start dealing with the Hellfire Club.

·         Excalibur inception is in this cross over.

·         Revelation from the events of the Massacre will affect the relationship of the X-Men  with a future member Gambit.

·         Caliban become a horseman of Apocalypse down the line to get back a at Sabertooth for the Massacres and before he join briefly X-Factor.

Its freaking sad how Leach's and Caliban reaction to the Massacre.
